The first structures on Delta Junction, which will connect HS2 with Curzon Street station and the West Coast main line, were completed in early September following a final push launch of the deck over the M42/M6 link roads in North Warwickshire.

The first 84-metre-long section of the composite viaduct was moved to its halfway position in June, after which three steel girders and 38 precast concrete slabs were installed to complete the 158-metre-long structure. It is being prepared for interim use as an internal haul road to remove material from Bromford tunnel from December.

Specialist steelwork company Victor Buyck Steel Construction completed the launch on behalf of main works contractor Balfour Beatty VINCI.
