NEW SENSOR SYSTEM

Rowe Hankins’ 4 Channel Speed Sensor has two independent dual channel sensors in one sensor housing and can be used as a direct replacement for single or dual channel speed sensors. With increased capabilities of the conventional dual channels, it improves both safety and operation due to providing backup and additional redundancy protection.

ACCELERATED INNOVATION

Network Rail’s Accelerated Innovation programme has created an innovation service for the devolved NR regions, focused on getting products into the hands of the frontline as quickly as possible. The programme is removing the barriers to innovation and challenging business norms, from how NR runs procurement to the way it implements and rolls out solutions.

REDUCING TRACK WEAR

ActiWheel GS is a new rail vehicle traction system developed by Stored Energy Technology Ltd (SET) to reduce rolling contact fatigue, wear and maintenance costs. It utilises an on-board digital control system linked to independently rotating in-wheel traction motors that autonomously guide and steer the train over the track.
